2. Grand Mosque

This is the official mosque in Kuwait, spanning a wide area of 45,000 square metres. The dome of the mosque is decorated with 99 names of God referred as Asma Al-Hosna. Built between 1975 and 1986, the mosque offers a large space that can accommodate 10,000 men in the main prayer hall and 950 women in a separate hall. It is also provided with a five-level car park, so that there is no inconvenience for the people who ride their in their own vehicles. The mosque’s minaret with its touch of Andalusian architecture merges the holy ambience of the place with a rich cultural oomph.
