The DEA’s Expert Decision to Keep Marijuana a Schedule I Drug

I'm seriously confused by the DEA's decision and their support for this ruling. We all know, or should know, the benefits of non-euphoric marijuana with children that suffer from seizures. We all know that cancer patients benefit greatly from it, too. WTF is going on here? Certainly, the government will promote and favor prescription medication that has huge price tags and a multitude of side-effects because this country is so damn addicted to them and the drug companies continue to payoff the right governmental entities to maintain their choke-hold on this scheme. It's really upsetting. Our country isn't addicted to marijuana, it's addicted to opiods. Sadly, we now get to see ads on TV for drugs tgat relieve constipation for Opiod users. That's really bad, as we continue to fill our bodies with drug after drug. The snowball effect kicks in and cycle gets worse. The pharmaceutical companies are the true drug pushers in our country and the DEA is their body guard, protecting their profit margins. Let's not even get into the fact that alcohol is far more damaging to the human body than marijuana. The DEA officials are flat out making stuff up. In the end, denying people to legal access to marijuana is simply allowing the Prison System to expand and in the end, the education system in this country will continue to shrink. Do we want more people in jail or in school? It would seem that this is where we are headed.

Some proponents of legalization are actually saying it's a good thing that marijuana remained classified as a Schedule I drug because if rescheduled as a Schedule I I drug, taxation would sneak in. I don't disagree with that thought, but the benefits of being a Schedule I I drug far outweigh that of being a Schedule I.

This country has enough problems right now, it's time to solve them, not create more.
