Disclaimer: Never take anything I say (or anyone else on the Internet says) to be investment advice. Consult with a professional, and extensively do your own research before ever investing into anything.

Block20 Interview

Stratis CEO, Chris Trew, was interviewed by Block20 at the London Blockchain Expo. In the interview, Chris talked about the upcoming ICO Platform, GLUON and more. You can have a look at the interview over here.

Crypto Disrupt Interview

At the London Blockchain Expo, Chris did another interview. This time with Crypto Disrupt. You can find the full video over here.

Forbes.com

Jason Bloomberg, a Forbes.com contributor, visited the London Blockchain Expo. After his visit, he wrote the following article ‘How To Make Money With Blockchain, Despite The Hype’.

In this article, Jason talks about companies in crypto and how a lot of them struggle to find a rational business model. He illustrates four companies that bring innovation to potentially profitable business ideas. And guess what..? Stratis is one of them. You can read the article over here.

Article ‘Acetmesis’

Long-term community member Acetmesis wrote the following article ‘Why I’m excited about the Stratis Platform from an investment perspective’. A great article which you should read. You can read the article over here.

Video ‘IssyBale’

Community member ‘IssyBale’ made a great video overview of Stratis. In this video, the following topics are shown: ICO’s, Events, Roadmap and Community. Take a look at the video here.

Weekly Github Commits

One thing that was missing in the weekly blog was an overview of the commits that have been made in the past week and an explanation of them. Well that’s about to change. You can have a look at last weeks commits over here. Here is an explanation of them followed by an overall analysis:

Reviewing this weeks activities, we can see that the Smart Contract team is refactoring parts of the full node to support what they are doing with Smart Contracts. The main smart contracts codebase exists in a private repository, but we can see that they are making changes to the way the full node works with relation to mining.

At a high level, we can see that there is a massive amount of tests that are constantly being updated. This makes sense, since the security of the system is of the utmost importance. We can also see that Jeremy (bokobza) enforces a high standard to the code, and code reviews all changes. He is functioning as a gate that makes sure that code is thoroughly tested, documented, and structured properly. This is important because otherwise, a codebase can become hard to manage and hard to maintain if code that does not follow standards is allowed.

Overall, the results of this weeks work on the full node seems to be better testing, fixes of bugs, and support for upcoming Smart Contract functionality. It is important to note that there are other teams on Stratis working on other code — This is just a look at the main software code for the Stratis Full Node.

Refreshing code

Thanks to community member Bradley Nielsen for his feedback on the Stratis Code.

Benefits of C# for Developers

Jordan Andrews, Smart Contracts Developer, recently tweeted the following about the Smart Contracts:

Hey guys we updated the testing interface for Stratis Smart Contracts! (No we didn’t really but Visual Studio did and because we’re leveraging this existing ecosystem we get this too).

This is one of the perks of using a coding language that has been there for years and has millions of developers around the world.

Cold Staking

Stratis is a blockchain platform that works on Proof of Stake (PoS). You can stake your $STRAT to help keep the network stable and secure and in return you get rewarded in $STRAT.

One of the solutions to improve security for staking is called ‘Cold Staking’. The reason that it’s more secure is because the spending key (which contains your $STRAT) is offline.

Recently Dan Gershony, CTO of Stratis, revealed that Stratis has a plan for deploying cold staking and they already have a specification ready on how to do it (staking key and spending key). When there is more information I will share it in my weekly blogs.

Review Stratis by @Welcome_Crypto

Stratis is a relative new project. I love their approach and they face no competition in their (quite large) space. It will be quite a challenge for the team of Stratis. A lot is happening for them this year.

Stratis Price

Normally I don’t talk a lot about the price of Stratis. This is because I like to focus on the development, news and progress of Stratis. This week I make an exception, because a lot of good things are happening to $STRAT in terms of ‘Charts’ and ‘Attention’.

And my own comparison:

Once again, this is not investment advise! Do your own research and take your conclusions based on the information that is out there.

GLUON

GLUON announced their ICO a few months ago, which will be the first ICO to launch from the Stratis ICO platform. This week, GLUON released new information about their project:

Beyond Global Trade

Beyond Global Trade (BGT) announced their ICO, which will be the second ICO to launch from the Stratis ICO platform. This week, BGT also released new information about their project.

That’s it for last week’s news. All the best to everyone!
