Stratis Sidechains Alpha Release

On 27 June, 2018, Stratis accomplished a huge milestone by releasing their Alpha of Stratis Sidechains. According to the CEO of Stratis, Chris Trew, Sidechains provide a means to quickly provision, sandbox and deploy a bespoke blockchain tailored to specific enterprise processes. Because Stratis sidechains remain linked to the well-established Stratis mainchain, enterprises can be certain their blockchain implementations will continue to benefit from enhancements made by Stratis’s core team of highly- experienced developers. You can read the full announcement over here.

Sidechains in action

You can now try out the Stratis Sidechains Alpha release by setting up Stratis and Apex wallets on the testnet network. You can then use them for cross-chain deposits and withdrawals.

Marketing Appears for Stratis Sidechains

Since the release of the Sidechains, there has been a lot of media coverage for Stratis. Here is an overview of some of the articles that have been published by different media-outlets:

Stratis Academy Release

On June 27, 2018, Stratis released their Stratis Academy. Their goal is for Stratis Academy to be the learning hub for developers to gain first-hand experience in blockchain technology.

For this first release of the Stratis Academy, there is a substantial library of content covering the foundation of blockchain, as well as learning modules for individual products developed on the Stratis Platform. Each chapter will enrich any developers keen to learn about the Stratis Platform and their product offerings.

Stratis Development Roadmap Update

In the first two quarters of 2018, Stratis has delivered a significant amount of releases. Their latest update is about all items from their Q1 and Q2 roadmap. You can read the full update here.

Chris Trew stated:

Our Q1/Q2 2018 development roadmap was intentionally aggressive in terms of what we wanted to achieve. I’m proud of what the team has delivered, with the introduction of important updates to the Stratis Platform. The ability to run smart contracts and to provision sidechains opens up a world of potential applications that enterprises can build on the Stratis Platform. I look forward to seeing the creative innovations third- party developers will realise.

Stratis is looking forward to the second half of 2018 and will be publishing their Q3/Q4 roadmap in the coming weeks.

Blockchain Expo Amsterdam

On 27–28 June, 2018, Stratis exhibited the Amsterdam Blockchain Expo. Stratis was a highest-ranked sponsor, and this resulted in a good location and size for their booth.

On behalf of Stratis, Jordan Andrews did two presentations about Stratis’ Smart Contracts. Jordan and Dan also got interviewed a few times. One of the interviews already showed up, and you can watch that here. You can also have a look at Jordan’s presentation over here.

Amsterdam was a great success, I was there for two days, and there was a lot of attention paid to Stratis. It was also a pleasure meeting long-term community members and seeing Stratis team members again.
