That’s not entirely true, because music through your headphones is your companion, like a friend. You might not always a hundred percent appreciate the music, but it’s always there when you need it. For example, Sing for the Moment by Eminem is a really special song to me, and I just like to listen to it. Maybe, it hits me when I have other emotions that blend well with it. Other time, I just like to listen to it because I enjoy the moment that was captured in that song.
Furthermore, meaning is how you assign it. It doesn’t depend on anyone but you. Of course, people are always going to find ways to monetize popular items, but you don’t have to buy into that.
This is just my two cents on your article. Overall, I enjoy reading it, because I find it to be super honest.
