Zudio is a Value fashion brand that has gained fame and popularity in recent years. It is known for its affordable yet stylish clothing options that cater to people of all age groups. Zudio has become a go-to brand for those who want to stay up-to-date with the latest fashion trends without spending much money . It is owned by the retail giant Trent Ltd, a subsidiary of the Tata Group. In this Blog we are going to cover everything about Zudio, from its layout to design aesthetics.

1. STORE LAYOUT AND VISUAL MERCHANDISING

While Glancing at Zudio , the first thing that captures our attention is it’s poster promoting with the tagline ‘BE THE FACE OF ZUDIO’ where it encourages the consumers to post themselves wearing it’s collection and posting it online to get featured in the posters of the stores of Zudio. This is an amazing promotional strategy imbibed by the brand . The window display mostly showcases kid’s-wear as well as ethnic and western wear in bright colors like red and its shades to catch the attention of the people passing by. On entering the store , we come across the maniquins displaying the best collection of their store helping the customer to get an insight of the brand’s aesthetic. The ground floor had products targeting the females , whereas the 1st floor had menswear and kidswear collection. As soon as we enter , the left side had western wear covering a large variety of designs and silhouettes whereas the right side had ethnic wear collection and lingerie . proceeding further , we have cosmetics segment and footwear segment beside it , followed by trial room and billing counter. Upstairs we have men’s collection at the starting and kid’s-wear collection at the extreme of the store . The mannequins had paired and styled different clothing to provoke consumers for impulsive buying. The theme of the store is kept minimal using mostly Black and White color tones with blue and red inputs in between to give more emphasis on the products which were placed consciously forming a color palette at different sections. The signage were proper and clear . There were Price points , Display boards describing the fit of the garment at each shelve as well as proper distinction of categories . The walls were quoted with ‘IRRESISTABLE FASHION IRRESISTABLE PRICES’ which conveys the goal of the brand — providing trendy clothes at affordable prices.

2. PRODUCTS VARIETY AND PRICE RANGE

Zudio covers a variety of categories catering to the needs of the consumers. The categories along with their subcategories are listed below ;

a. CLOTHING

While the store focuses more on selling Clothing items , it has different segments divided according to the target audience, There is Women’s wear , Men’s wear and kid’s wear clothing. For Women’s wear , it has western wear comprising of t-shirts , bottoms , tops , hoodies , sweaters , denim jeans , cargo pants , frocks , short dresses, jerseys, jackets etc . The ethnic wear consists of co-ord sets , Kurtas , maxi , dresses , Frocks , long tops , bottoms like palazzo , straight fit ,relaxed fit , slim fit and regular fit , embroidered kurta and even gowns. and also leisurewear. The Target audience is mainly females of age group 16- 45 . Prices range starts from as Rs. 199 to Rs. 1200 approx, with varying sizes ranging from XS to XXL . Men’s wear collection comprised of shirts , t-shirts , jackets , coverups , sweatshirts , hoodies, denim jeans , jogger fit jeans , bermudas , chinos , khaki pants , joggers , track suits , sweaters, etc. targeting audience between the age group of 16–45. Price ranging from Rs.199 to Rs.999 , with varying sizes starting from XS to XXL . The kid’s-wear collection both for girls and boys had mainly two subcategories — for kids of age 9 months to 5 years and 5 -14 years . they had bottoms , socks , t-shirts , shirts , frocks , tops and many more.

b. FOOTWEAR

Zudio covers a varied range of footwears both for men and women , with different aesthetics . For women , it has shoes , sneakers , boots , sandals , heels , flip-flops, mules , slippers and slides whereas for men , it has shoes , sneakers , dress shoes , boots , flip-flops , slippers and many more.

c. UNDERGARMENTS

Zudio provides good quality and comfortable undergarments for men as well as women ranging from Rs.199 to Rs599. For women , varied styles of bra differing in terms of comfort, use and purpose could be seen . There were seam free bra , 2 way bra , comfort bra , t-shirt bra and bonded comfort bra . Under briefs , shapewears , hipsters , briefs of low rise , mid rise , high rise stretch , brazilian , bikini and hi leg could be seen . For men , there were briefs available . Both the categories had vast number of sizes and colors available .

d. ACCESSORIES

Zudio also has a very small segment of its store dedicated to accessories in cute shapes and pastel colors . The collection mainly comprises of hairbands , clips , scrunchies , rubber bands and clutchers to mini clutchers . These are decent quality products ranged between Rs.50 to Rs.199.

e. COSMETICS

Zudio provides a vast options of shades and colors in it’s cosmetics at much cheaper rates. The cosmetics segment of the stores comprises of lip gloss , lip color's , makeup bands , pouches , Kajal and eyeliners available in shades of black , brown , aqua , olive , blue and copper , mascara , eye makeup removers m lip color remover , micellar water , lipsticks, nail polish remover , cotton pads and nail color at pastel and glittery shades. All these products range from Rs. 80 to Rs 299. Apart from these , they also keep lip-scrubs , lip-balms of strawberry , bubblegum, honey and coffee flavors , manicure set , eyelash curler , foldable mirror and makeup brushes . Body mists , shower gels , body lotion , deodorants and perfumes priced between Rs 200- Rs300 are one of the top selling products because of the variety of fragrances available. They also have Wet wipes and Face masks.

Zudio is known for it’s variety of collection , it’s quality , silhouettes and design aesthetics of it’s products making it accessible to vast number of audience with different choices and aesthetic . Here are some of the aesthetics commonly found in the collection of Zudio ;

a. Timeless pieces / Classics

Classic pieces are the evergreen pieces which never goes out of style , and is generally accepted by mass . In Zudio we can see certain timeless pieces like denim jeans , denim jacket , crewneck sweaters , white shirt and even dress shoes for men and many more.

b. Minimalist Fashion

A Minimalist Fashion is all about creating polished looks with essential uncomplicated forms , clean lines, simple finishes. Another major characteristics of this are neutral , monochromatic color palettes and high quality fabrics , overall creating a clean look . In Zudio , neutral colored sneakers , clean silhouettes of tops and bottoms, textured and neutral color t-shirts ,polo neck t-shirts could be spotted.

c. Streetwear aesthetic

Streetwear aesthetic is often characterized by a casual and comfortable style with an emphasis on self-expression. It mainly includes graphic t-shirts , hoodies and sweatshirts , artistic sneakers and camouflage prints . Zudio had oversized sweatshirts , graffiti jackets and sneakers , plaid oversized jacket , graphic t-shirts , baggy jeans and cargo pants inclining towards a streetwear style of clothing.

d. Soft Girl Aesthetic

The soft girl aesthetic is a style that emerged on social media platforms, characterized by a gentle, feminine, and dreamy look with a focus on pastel colors, cute accessories, and a generally innocent and youthful appearance. Zudio had pastel colored knitted sweaters , woolen cardigans, checkered shirt etc , falling under this category.

e. Preppy Aesthetic

Zudio is a Value Fashion brand , and we all know that Value Fashion brands often engage in practices which impacts the environment . On observing the materials of the clothing produced by the brand , The brand had clothes made of nylon , elastane ,polyester , but also cotton , linen , georgette , crepe, modal and satin. The brand claims that it uses eco-friendly materials wherever possible and is constantly exploring ways to reduce its environmental impact. Zudio also has a recycling program in place, where customers can exchange old clothes for discounts on new purchases. Also the clothes are given in paper bags , avoiding the use of plastics. Trent the owner of the brand have also collaborated with Wisebin , a centralized waste collection and recycling organization. Therefore , we can conclude that the Brand is continuously taking steps to reduce its carbon footprints .
