It’s a long walk.
All the initial bravado has worn off. The adrenaline has ebbed. The swagger has died. The banana breads and Dalgona coffees are consigned to the pages of history.
And the pandemic has still gone nowhere.
For us, as humans, it is a long walk.
And we are going to have to become different people to deal with this. There are no quick fixes, there are no short cuts. We are simply going to HAVE to change who we are to win against this challenger.
We are going to have to become more focused on personal health. We are going to have to devote time to mental wellbeing. We are going to have to learn the value of silence and meditation and breathing and kindness.
Kindness. I believe that kindness is the way forward. We are going to have to learn to be kind to those who know no better. For our sake as much as for their sake. In a kinder world, we will recover faster. And heal better.
We are going to have to help one another, if we are to have any hope of beating this. We are going to have to smile more, paint more, read more, hum more, dance more…
Art will save us. Kindness will save us. Science will save us.
Hatred, anger, poison, stupidity will kill us. That’s the pandemic. A virus form of the ills that seek to attack us.
We are going to have to change. Develop natural immunity to vitriol. Get vaccinated against the insidious attempts to divide us.
It’s a long walk. But so what…
Here’s to holding hands. And walking together. And staying away from what comes between you and your peace.
Love. Light. And good sense to us all. ❤
