O’Reilly completely missed the intention of Michelle’s speech. It was not a historical lecture on the conditions of slaves, but rather, an acknowledgement of the fact that the same ethnicity that was denied the basic natural rights(regardless of how well fed they are) we are all entitled to is now occupying that very house and the highest office of the land: a truly beautiful testament to progress. That is not to say that we are even close to realizing the founding ideals of our nation that were so brilliantly articulated but have been so abysmally administered.
