Beyond SaaS, IT itself is still stuck in the Middle-Ages: software/apps are still developed as books were produced before 1453, as two main paradigms are applied:
- copying: writing code that has alread been written again and again, reinventing the wheel, just like copist monks,
- block-printing: opensource, github, npm and the likes are the equivalent of block-printing before Gutenberg.

We are still nowhere in terms of industrialisation/standardization of the development process.
I believe the next big thing will come as we start moving beyond these mantras that are defining IT development since… the beginning.
(starting next year, as far as I am concerned)

Does that mean your focus on 0.9 stage startups is sometimes 0.7 or 0.8 ?

BTW, do you at P9 have (or have considered) something like in-house entrepreneurs, whatever that means ?
