The startup time for Sublime is the reason I use it over all the other editors. I love the features and the look and feel the other editors have to offer, and I would have loved to have used Microsoft’s Code editor, but it takes too long to start up, Sorry MS Code, you are too slow to start up.

Another feature that is not present in other editors, and another reason why I really like Sublime, combined with its fast close and startup times, is that even if you do not save a document, it will remember what you have typed. You can use it as a way to quickly make notes, a glorified cut & paste bin for your computer with syntax highlighting straight out of the box, without having to configure anything. You can, of course, change the settings to have it behave differently.

Sublime wins because of these two factors. I’ve not taken into consideration about Nano (a spin-off from Pico, which is a part of Pine) or Vim (spin-off from Vi) as these are test based editors.
