KickCity at South By South West (Texas)
South by Southwest (abbreviated as SXSW ) is an annual conglomerate of film, interactive media, and music festivals and conferences that takes place in mid-March in Austin, Texas, United States. It began in 1987, and has continued to grow in both scope and size every year.
SXSW 2018 ran from March 9 to 18. Guest speakers included U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders (I-Vermont); entrepreneur Elon Musk; actor and former Governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger; Mayor of London Sadiq Khan; author and journalist Ta-Nehisi Coates; journalist Christiane Amanpour; rap artist/producer David Banner, and film producer/directors Barry Jenkins, Darren Aronofsky and Steven Spielberg among others. Actor and comedian Bill Murray appeared at several unofficial functions during SXSW
KickCity and SXSW
KickCity actively participated in the event. We talked with and signed a couple of local artists to use our platform to promote their gigs as our goal is to use music to drive mass adoption of tokens and blockchain.
There were numerous blockchain side events during SXSW. One of the most prominent ones was by Crypto friends where more than 500 blockchain experts, firms and investors gathered. KickCity pitched at the event and we received great acceptance. It was a good avenue to share our dream and goal with the community and we got a couple of potential partners ready to use our platform. Currently we are under public Beta. You can check it out here.

One of the Most interesting parts of the event was the Capitalism2050 event which was co-sponsored by KickCity. The Event featured several big names in the music and blockchain industry. KickCity’s CEO & Founder was a member of the blockchain + music roundtable discussion. Members of the panel explored ways on how blockchain technology can move the music industry forward by bringing the needed innovation. It’s obvious that the Music Industry will lead a mass adoption of blockchain technology. This is due to the fact everyone loves music and musicians influence culture and the way of life of people.
