I hate progressives for arguing that what is right is right because it is progressive.

You are doing the same thing with “western civilization”. And I do not want to burry all your very good notes and observations with that sinking ship.

If we are to fall we will fall. And russian ortodoxism takes over, chinese communists-confuciaism, hindu bootstrap capitalism or islamic patriachy. Honestly could not care less. In the wide sceme of history ideas have fallen and succeded, evolved and condensed.

We do not have the perfect society. We have good(those where kids aren’t used as sex toys with the consent of their parents) and great(those that create excess wealth so a good chunk of people don’t need to do hard labor) but otherwise it’s a give and take, community vs individual freedom, stability vs innovation, prosperity vs security. Let history decide what people find to be more valueble for them in that moment in time.

Otherwise personally, I think you are trowing the baby with the bathwater because he isn’t white. The most fundamental power behind western society(and I will argue for judeo-christian societies here) is that it’s a darwinian beauty. From the shitshow that was the fall of the roman empire, to the CENTURIES of continuous war between feudal wars, to the real politic of european modernity and imperialism to the american federation of states. Plurality, has been the driving force of technology and society. We lost millions in war against one another and that just made use a sociatal example of survival of the fittest.

Plurality has given birth to unthinkable concepts like direct democracy for all, the internet of interconnected peer and free market capitalism. These outside of any real world applications are absurd, but in practice they work very well.

INtersectionality is one such divisive and horrific concept. And it’s political expressions are marginally fascists and potentially a treath to western society, but it may also create a more flexible society. It is post existentialism in steroids and it may prove to be the most potent strain of western culture yet, because as you see the gripes and antisocial nature of western progressives, you do not see the desegregation of indian, african and chinese culture from within. The West through the internet, and some dubious social engineering by google, has put the whole world on chemotherapy. Sure, the west is coughing up blood, vomiting and need to wear a orange toupee, but we are still the fittest one on this planet.

I won’t go into details, because that in itself would require 3 full size posts, but both at a cultural level and economic level the west is feeding so much post modern toxicity into the rest of the world that within 4 generations we will be one world and one culture, western culture. As far I am seeing only Russia, ISIS and India can somewhat resist the postmodern global chemotherapy and Trump is the first western leader that is chemo resistant.

Is that good, don’t know. Chemo is a bad option, and I don’t think it was necessary. But what I do know is that the west because of it’s flexible culture will be the winner in the long term or at least we have the least too lose.
