sometimes, an accidental bite into your lip or inside of your mouth may have consequences. Yes, you can see a swelling, which doesn’t harm and doesn’t hurt. The mucous cyst pops up because of damage to oral soft tissues. Mucous cyst happens due to salivary gland ducts injury, so saliva fluid won’t find a way into the mouth, causing swelling of the surrounding tissues. The majority of the mucous cysts rise up from the skin inside of lower lips, but you can expect them on the floor of the mouth, inside of your cheeks, and also on your palate.

If a lump swelling has just popped up inside of your lower lip, it is likely that a mucous cyst has developed. Although the lower lip is the common spot in the majority of cases, it can form in other oral tissues. Don’t worry and stay calm since mucous cysts are harmless. If don’t go away within a few days, doctors remove these small cysts for you.
