We love a really good natter with friends especially if accompanied by cup of tea, one of our most favourite things in the whole wide world. We know, we’re very easily pleased :o)

You know what it’s like when you sit down with family or friends. Conversations are sparked & you’re soon taking stock of your life, or at least put the world to rights!

We’re sure you also know the benefits of walking — great form of exercise, mood enhancing, memory, concentration & sleep improving, creativity boosting— generally makes you feel better about yourself.

Queen’s Valley Panoramic

We bring you our Jersey Top 5 that combines the two — Walking & Talking! (with the promise of a cuppa & perhaps treat yourself to a cheeky piece of cake too!)

We’ve picked some walks that are usually quite busy with walkers & some that will give you a little more peace & seclusion.

REMEMBER — KEEP TO DESIGNATED PATHS & IF YOU HEAD OUT ALONE, TELL SOMEONE WHERE YOU ARE GOING & THE TIME YOU EXPECT TO BE HOME

1. Round the Harbour — Walk around Jardins de la Mer, Elizabeth Quay & Albert Pier & New North Quay (See Jersey Harbours on Facebook)

For a cuppa — Spoilt for choice near the Harbour! We like the Sailor’s Rest cafe or the Cafe Bar at Pomme d’Or Hotel

2. Queen’s Valley Reservoir — Have a walk all the way around the reservoir or for a quick walk, cut across the bridge in the middle of the reservoir (See Jersey Water on Facebook)

For a cuppa — Head to Ransom’s Tea Room

3. Egypte (the one in the North of the Island not the holiday destination— sorry! If you haven’t been to Egypte before, drive east from Les Platons car park along Route des Platons. On the sharp bend, turn left up the track to Egypte. Limited parking)

See National Trust for Jersey on Facebook & Find out more about Egypte here

For a cuppa — Head to Cafe Firefly at Durrell (you could also head down to Bonne Nuit Cafe, closed for winter until March)

4. Jardin d’Olivet (If you haven’t been to Jardin d’Olivet, head down Bouley Bay hill. Turn right into Chemin d’Olivet. The car park is off this lane.

Find out more about Jardin d’Olivet here

For a cuppa — We’d also head to Cafe Firefly at Durrell(You could also head down to Boulay Bay to Mad Mary’s Cafe but check as they may be closed for winter)

5. North Coast — We like to park at St Catherine’s & walk west along cliff path to Rozel or vice versa

For a cuppa — Depending on your start/end place, head to the Hungry Man or Rozel Tea Rooms at opposite ends of Rozel Pier or the Breakwater Cafe if you end up at St Catherine’s

Have a happy walk, talk & cuppa from Rachael & Matt!
