Exploring Medium

One day a chap named Kieran Kelly created a medium.com account and attempted to discover what it was all about. His first impression was that it was really quite lovely to use. The text formatting feature, for instance, was super smooth.

Then he wanted to see just how easy it was to add an image so he placed the cursor above this paragraph in the empty space and pressed control, as instructed… but that didn’t work. Perhaps he had misunderstood. Perhaps medium needed to be clearer. Perhaps he was just an idiot. He then spotted the three horizontal dots on the left hand side and when he hovered his mouse over them a picture icon appeared. Aha! he thought. This is where I enter an image. But it was not to be. When he selected an image from the local drive, it appeared as the backdrop you are seeing now. His quest to add an inline image had failed and he was none the wiser about medium.com and its reason for being.

Perhaps I should get on with some work, he thought, and dutifully he left medium.com to do just that.
