The list of connected devices is growing and has now reached vehicles such as cars and drones. It is worth noting the growth that has been seen on the technological front over the year especially in key areas of the economy which spur growth and development of various nations. One aspect that is key in growth is transport. It holds a number of industries such as vehicles manufacturers, vehicle parts manufacturers, engineers and other associated professions. Efficient transport would be beneficial to the world. Moving goods and people efficiently would save on time and resources thereby availing them for other economic uses. Drones are already being used in certain parts of the world to make final deliveries of products. They have a limited flying time hence they can only be used over a limited distance. This can however grow as battery technology continues improving such that drones become the delivery vehicles of choice in the near future. They can be exceptional especially in delivery of small packages, however, improvements need to be done on the delivery system to cater for fragile items such as glass. Drones need to be programmed to make exact deliveries on land and not drop off boxed mid-air. Drones can clearly excel in delivery. A new avenue that researchers are working on is on drone cab services. Choppers are too costly to run and maintain, drones seem to be a far cheaper option providing similar services more efficiently. With drone cabs, people would find a cheaper option to beat the city traffic. It also saves on environment by use of electricity instead of polluting energy sources such as gasoline. The use of blockchain technology to make decentralization possible is a crucial advantage of the platform. More connectivity of devices means more avenues for hackers to trespass these systems. The security that blockchain offers will be crucial. Transparency is also needed as their will be trading of assets for services within the platform. Each registered member of the DAV platform will have their unique identity that will keep trading as transparent as possible while maintaining the privacy of members.
