Remembering you
Is remembering me
A facet of reality
Projected into light
To be seen.
A shadow
Gliding along a wall
It seems too tall
To miss -
Come out of your state of bliss.
We are each other
A mirror
Of our children.
Babies live inside of us all
The parts of us shoved down so far
Suppressing who we are
Falling downwards
From our cause.
We hope to be more than what we are.
And who is that?
A mature adult.
Freedom is a masquerade
For those who choose to play
A game of
escape.
Shadows follow you
They’re imprinted
On your fingerprints
As you doubt yourself small.
