To tweet or not to tweet

Twitter is a social network site which allows users to share anything they like from what they just ate or how they are feeling. It attracts a wide spread of users including growing educators. Twitter is used by many people all over the world and it is a resource that can help attract like-minded people that are tweeting similar issues or interest example education, sports, weather and many more.

Using twitter as a student is beneficial because it allows you to connect with other peers and share your thoughts on a topic, check in and communicate, ideas by being able to see what others have posted.

As a teacher Twitter would be effective because it could keep you updated with current and important information. It could be useful for information highlighting best classroom practices and innovative thinking. Making professional connections via social networking can not only result in alot of great sharing ideas and resources, this social networking can also help tackle the isolation some teachers may experience.

Personally in the future I would like to think I would use twitter as a connection source to not only seek information and ideas but to get my own ideas and teaching strategies out there and get feed back that could help me improve in my teaching style or approach.
