The Power of the Black Vote
The pResident told these terrorists that he loved them then said that they are absolutely right to fight for the lost election. The thing the TV pundits keep saying is that he is stoking this with lies. They are missing the point.

This is not simply because they lost the election. None of these terrorist mob rioters are chanting and carrying confederate flags as they stormed the US Capitol because there were Democratic votes in New Hampshire.
No, they are breaking windows and sitting at the desks of Congress women because of the votes in MI, PA and GA. Because of the votes in Detroit, Atlanta and Philadelphia. Because of the votes of black and brown people. This is all about the power of the black vote and seeking to disenfranchise that vote. The black vote that rejected the racist in chief and elected President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.
That’s why we see who we see out there in DC. That’s why we see confederate flags. Not simply because they lost an election but because they lost an election due to the power of the urban black vote. Because black people like the incomparable Stacey Abrams organized and black people responded, registered and voted. Because black people understood they could make a change and stand against more than 400 years of US racism. Because we understood that we are no longer okay with being kept out of government and having our votes suppressed. We voted. We voted early. We stood in line. We risked our lives in the midst of covid and we decided that racism must be eradicated.
Finally.
No. This is not simply about losing an election. This is about black and brown people raising their voices and making a change. This is about the power is shifting. This is about black people saying, declaring and proclaiming Black Lives Matter and meaning it.
