Since 2011, The Kitchen Community has proven our ability to provide a real food education to students in underserved schools across the country. We have grown from a handful of Learning Gardens in our hometown of Boulder, Colorado to nearly 300 schools in Chicago, Los Angeles, Memphis and Denver.

Learning Gardens are outdoor classrooms, engaging learning environments where kids learn about math, science, entrepreneurship, and above all else, real food. Our results speak for themselves — 98% of teachers agree that Learning Gardens increase their students’ knowledge of healthy foods, and 93% tell us that their students participate more in the Learning Garden than they do in the classroom.

We are uniquely suited for national impact — with an inexpensive and flexible infrastructure and a powerful set of educational tools, we believe our Learning Garden initiative can fundamentally alter the trajectory of a child’s relationship with food and their academic environment. We are committed to partnering with communities to enable the next generation of youth to lead healthier and more productive lives. Now is the time — grow with us!
