Living At Home Again? Check. Paying Rent? Rain Check.
Ester Bloom
2022

I work full time and live at home with my parents. I commute two hours round trip everyday to work. With the money I make now, and my school loans it would be impossible for me to pay rent anywhere withing a half an hour of my job. The deal with my parents is that I can live at home, rent free, for as long as I’d like. But I need to be paying more than the minimum on my loans, and contributing to a Roth IRA. I do my own laundry, keep my room clean, make dinner for the family, buy groceries sometimes, and help out wherever needed. I do not pay rent, but I’m not freeloading.
