Whether you are a newbie at writing or you’re considered a veteran, there are always things to learn to improve your writing.
I have found 6 ways to improve my own writing:
There are a number of free (and paid) courses that you can take online and through continuing education at colleges and other organizations.
I’ve taken a course on writing devotionals, a course on writing for children, and a creative writing course.
There are one-day courses, full certificate courses, and everything in-between. The type of course you take is only limited by your imagination.
A simple google search can…

Through this series, I want to share with you a little snapshot into the lives of Christians and their before and after stories.
Arulnathan John was born in 1965 and gave his heart to the Lord at age 13. He was born in a Christian family and before he was filled with the Holy Spirit, his prayer life was structured and rote. Now, living in Singapore, his prayer life has…
I was raised Catholic. I attended Separate School and went to mass every Sunday.
In university, I would often argue with my best friend about how Catholicism was the only right religion. Although she was Protestant I believed that she followed a different God.
Somewhere along the line, I got my wires crossed and assumed that if you weren’t Catholic, you weren’t a Christian.
It wasn’t until I was born-again and decided to allow Jesus into my everyday life that I realized how wrong I was.
I remember the cold afternoon where the veil was lifted from my eyes. I…
I regularly suffer from depression and have since I was a child.
Thank God that in my 40s I was finally diagnosed with clinical depression and my doctor started me on a low dose of medication. Just enough to stop the rollercoaster ride of extreme highs and depressing depths.
That said, I’ve always been an optimist and have been described as someone who wears “rose-coloured glasses”.
So it wasn’t difficult for me to start a daily journal to list my blessings. Every day, I wrote out 5 things that I was thankful for.
Most days, it was easy. I have…

December of 2020. I joined Medium because it is not just a platform. It is a community of writers who seem to support one another.
It happened in Religion class in grade 3.
The week before, the priest that taught our group stood at the front of the class leading us in the Lord’s Prayer.
At the end of the prayer, we all said “Amen” together. Then he asked us to think about the meaning of this word and we would discuss it together as a class the following week.
That afternoon at home, I asked my brothers what the word Amen meant. They said it meant “all men” — as in all men agree.
Equipped with my response, I was the first to put…
