Impactousa.com is very obviously a Hispanic news source because it is in Spanish. Therefore, we see when we go on the website that all of the articles are in Spanish. However, you are allowed to translate it all to English. Because the news is in Spanish it is directed towards a Hispanic audience. A lot of the articles this week of course are about DACA since it is relatively new and this issue affects a lot of Hispanic families. It is interesting how the website is set up because they have a news tab and it has national, International, local, state, Mexico and Latin America, Health, Economy, and Migration tabs which helps someone find a specific story that they are looking for. What caught my eye was how the local stories did report on issues going on in LA such as DACA, or being a Sanctuary city but there were also reports on Hollywood, music, and pop culture in Los Angeles. This is important because although the audience may be looking at events that happen in Mexico, or Los Angeles they are can also read and be informed about health and the economy from all over the world and can read stories that they might have not looked into. I chose this website because it looked interesting to me and I also wanted to look at a Hispanic newspaper since I usually read the LA times or Washington post. I wanted to see how a Hispanic newspaper may be the same or even differ on what they report and how they report on it. Personally, I know if my family were to read this they would find different stories interesting and it would allow them to become well rounded in a lot of different aspects and not just in politics or Hispanic issues.
