Here’s why you’re overlooking how much VR actually matters

I think you are so right on all points about VR, esp. in the education realm (which, I’m in higher ed, so naturally I think that! ha!).

But I’ve been in tech since, oh, 1984 when I did my high school science project on explaining how the trash-80 cpu worked. And while this might be too unsavory to bring up in an article meant to appeal to the mainstream: do not underestimate pornography.

No one really wants to talk about it, and I certainly don’t feel it’s suitable to describe in detail what I mean here (we all know what I mean here) but porn has, for better or for worse, driven many of the improvements in computer and, following, internet/web technology, especially and unsurprisingly regarding the delivery of images.

I only bring it up as I think it should be factored in as a point on the radar. Whereth porn go, so follows the mainstream, and so also we can, if we are paying attention, follow user demands for the technology and apply it to more widely applicable needs.

Food for thought, anyway. Thanks for the insightful article!
