Can Novels Make Us Better People?
Josh Spilker

I’ve been grappling with this myself, and I think that novels can make us better people. They can show us ranges of human complexity, expand our worldliness without hopping on a plane, and make us comfortable with imperfections. It shows us the difference between how the world may view someone as opposed to how they view themselves. Ultimately, the more perspectives we can get from the world, the better off we’ll all be.
