My granddad was a POW in WW2 (plane shot down like McCain) and my Dad was almost killed by a landmine in Vietnam (a blast that killed 2 of his platoon buddies). He later died from the same cancer diagnosis McCain now has. But you never saw either of them use their “war hero” status afterwards as justification for unnecessary warmongering foreign policy. Have any McCain apologists yet managed to mount a defense of his politics without pulling the war hero card or cancer card as shields against closer scrutiny of his history? I am yet to see one.
