The West is clearly better than the East. A case can be made for the top five teams being in the West.

But merely making the playoffs in the West is not a feat. There can be no real doubt the Hawks would have made the playoffs in the West, for instance, and nobody’s clamoring for Paul Millsap as MVP.

Westbrook’s season is absolutely special and historic, but it’s not MSP or MHP.
