
National Novel Writing Month, Or: How I Stopped Worrying and Started Committing to Absurd Goals.

Though I am writing from Nairobi, Kenya, all my writer friends are scattered across the globe.On top of writing for a handful of publications, editing for a book my school, and recording music, I’ve decided to write a novel this month. Meanwhile, like any other liberal arts student, I’m booked with a full course load.
After checking out Orwell’s Homage to Catalonia from the University’s library and watching I’m Not There, my creative candle’s wick is relit.

Despite time restraints or self-doubts, as a writer, what are your goals?
We’ve all got one life to live, and though I write articles, I’ve wanted to write a book since my preadolescent days. Seeing 400 words printed in paper is satisfying, but what about 50,000?
