Are you proud to be an American? Some of you don’t seem to understand what being American means. You disrespect immigrants every chance you get. But tell me this. If you were in China, still an American citizen, and the only way to make it back here was to be smuggled in a shipping container, would you risk it? If you were in Mexico and the only way you could make it back to America was to cross the desert with “coyotes”, would you risk your life to return? I know most of you wouldn’t. In fact, if some of you were told you had to walk 50 miles to make it back to America from Canada, you’d never leave. I question your devotion to the United States of America.

Just like some people are born rich, we are born with a more comfortable lifestyle than others in this world. Many people feel entitled to something that they haven’t done anything to earn. You didn’t earn the right to call yourself an American, your ancestors did. Most of them were immigrants too. Luckily they didn’t have as many people like you to deal with. There was no media machine ranting about them like they were a sort of virus. America is a nation built by immigrants. We call ourselves “The Land of the Free” because we are supposed to welcome those who wish to be free. If we are the “Home of the Brave” then be brave enough to coexist with those who are different than you. I welcome our new brothers and sisters who were willing to risk their lives for a chance to be one of us. You should too.
