The upcoming gaming phone has been spotted on Geekbench with the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. ASUS is expected to launch the ROG Phone 8 series next year.
ASUS has been rumoured to be working on the next-generation ROG Phone lineup. The alleged ASUS ROG Phone 8 was recently spotted on the IMEI database hinting that its launch is imminent. This time there are three phones expected in the lineup — ASUS ROG Phone 8, ASUS ROG Phone 8 Pro, and ASUS ROG Phone 8 Ultimate. The top-end model, the ROG Phone 8 Ultimate has now been spotted on Geekbench.
ASUS ROG Phone 8 Ultimate Geekbench listing
The ASUS phone bears the model number ASUS_AI2401_A on Geekbench. This model number is associated with the ASUS ROG Phone 8 Ultimate according to an IMEI database report. The listing shows the phone running an octa-core chipset with a new 1+5+2 CPU architecture that’s been rumoured for the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. Qualcomm is launching this flagship mobile chipset next month.
This model number is said to be associated with the vanilla ROG Phone 8 as well, so this phone might launch with the same chipset as well. The Geekbench listing also shows the ROG Phone 8 Ultimate will come with Android 14. It has accumulated 2,213 points in the single-core test, and 7,408 points in the multi-core test.

Details on the ROG Phone 8 series are still scarce, and the launch is expected to take place next year.
