Water you drinking?

Are you drinking your daily cup or cups of coffee, tea, soda, or alcohol? Are you drinking an adequate amount of water?

A bit of cliché, but I’m certain many of us heard that our human body is mostly composed of water, drinking water is healthy for you, and what not! Unfortunately (for those who hate water), that is true! Many people tend to neglect water as an essential component in their daily lives and replace it with all sorts of other beverages. While it is important that we have some sort of moisture intake, we must also be considerate of what we are taking in.

Caffeine helps most of us stay awake, but what is wrong with it?

I know caffeine is crucial for many of us, but I don’t think many of us are aware of what can actually happen to our body when we drink too much caffeine. Caffeinated drinks, such as coffee and tea, are relatively acidic for our body. Since our body is slightly more alkaline (having a pH slightly above neutral), having coffee and tea will most likely affect our body negatively! The magnitude of the effect is dependent on how much acidic drink you consume. One may consume 5 bottles of beer every day — making their body extremely acidic, while one may drink a cup of coffee every day — having less of an effect. What can these acidic beverages do to us?
