My Daily Schedule

Having a healthy and consistent daily schedule that improves your life style and makes you more productive is very crucial in an entrepreneur’s life. In today’s post, I am open-sourcing my daily schedule, that took me years to perfect.

My morning schedule is very similar to Patrick Bateman from American Psycho (NSFW). Here is my monologue similar to Patrick Bateman’s :)

I believe in taking care of myself, and a balanced diet and a rigorous exercise routine. In the morning, after brushing my teeth, I put on a face mask and start some hard rock background music, while I workout for an hour. My workout involves push-ups and abs-exercise with my Ab Roller Evolution, upper body exercise with my dumbbells, lower body exercise on my stationary exercise bike. After this, I drink one bottle (1 Litre) of water mixed with Organic Wheat Grass and eat lots of almonds (soaked in water the previous night) to provide quick energy.

In the shower, I use a Sulfate Free 2-in-1 Shampoo and Conditioner and a Honey and Almond body scrub. Then I apply a mixture of Moroccan Argan Oil and Tea Tree Oil to my face (see the benefits of argan and tea tree oils), styling gel to my hair and moisturizing eye drops. Staring at computer screens all day changes your eyes, study finds. I meditate for 15 minutes using the Wim Hof Method.

My breakfast is a subset of {apples, oranges, cereal+almond milk, bananas, oatmeal}. I drink hot Jasmine Green Tea / Honey Ginseng Green Tea / Organic Licorice Root Tea / Organic Rooibos Tea. These are some good alternatives if you want to avoid the side effects of coffee.

Now, I am ready to start my work. I work till noon without any interruptions. I always use a standing desk. The only time I sit during the day, is when I am having lunch or I am in a meeting. Sitting for long periods is bad for health.

I start my lunch with a salad or vegetable broth. My lunch is usually Indian vegetarian. I take my own time and spend 45–60 mins at lunch with no multi-tasking.

After lunch, I work till at least 9pm with a short break in the evening for snacks (mostly fruits). Hey, a man wants to eat.

I avoid looking at computer screens for at least two hours before going to bed. Reading on a screen before bed time can mess with your sleep. I write my daily diary and make a schedule for the next day. I take bath (mixing Sea Salt with Lavender in bathing water), have dinner, drink lavender and chamomile tea, use a lavender spray in the bedroom and go to sleep. I start a sleep tracking app in my phone, put it in airplane mode and keep it under the pillow. Airplane mode avoids the cellphone’s radiation.

On Weekends, my schedule involves more exercise, sometimes cooking, organizing home, reading books, painting, going on a date and most importantly Bicycling and Hiking. I go to Shoreline Park (SF Bay Trail, Stevens Creek Trail) or Los Alamitos Creek Trail and bicycle for three hours (on Sunday/Saturday afternoon), without any background music. Bicycling is a nice way to relieve stress and enjoy the nature’s calmness. I am constantly exploring new places to bike and hike.

In Summary, if you eat well, sleep well and exercise well, you will have lots of energy to work hard and help others too. Also, surround yourself with positive people. Pay generous disregard to negative, unhappy, nagging, complaining and boring people. Negative thoughts and unhappiness can be contagious. Life is too valuable to waste time in unhappy relationships or in doing fake work. People are much happier when they are spending their time doing things they are passionate about.

That’s all folks. Stay tuned.
