Why don’t I miss my Dad?

Hi Sarah, I’m very sorry for your loss. Having lost both my parents, there’s one thing I can tell you for sure: Whatever you feel right now is whatever you need to feel in order for reality to settle in.

The sadness will come — in those little moments, when you least expect it. When you remember one of the many wonderful moments I’m sure you must have had, or when you walk down the street and mistake a complete stranger for your dad, because he walks like him, or when you sit in a restaurant and the guy at the table behind you bursts out laughing which painfully reminds you of your dad.

The purest sadness is always felt in those little moments.

Thank you for sharing and all the best to you and your family.
