Great stuff Jason. A leader’s job is to provide context and over communicate it. On the hiring side I would second that speed is key, we try to do offers within 24 hours when possible.
On hiring we think about how a candidate falls into two key questions.
- Would you be sad if this person didn’t work here?
- Does this person increase the average of the team?
If the answer to these two questions is yes, then move as fast as possible to get them. We often do custom swag or gifts around hobbies that a person mentions in the interview process to show our commitment to them early on in the process.
