The disposable Metro.

It’s supposed to last for up to 8 years. Only a year and a half later, it’s been suspended.

Mexico, my country, it’s a land of opportunities. There’s no doubt about it. Nevertheless, it’s also a very corrupt country and this story I’m about to tell you, it’s more than just an example.

Jsut like the children’s game “ hot potato “ , the responsibles for the construction, bidding and approval of the Metro Line 12 are precisely allocating responsibility for the preventive suspension of the System Collective Transport in Mexico City “Gold Line”.

Make a list of what each one of them has to say is simply stupid. Instead, I will just list their statements ( with the classic tone of sarcasm and irony ) for you (like me) to play the “ Clue “ to discover the culprit.

According to the Mayor of Mexico City:
“The Line was that way even before I arrived”.

According to former Mayor of Mexico City:
“I hope the best opinion. But I was told the Line was OK”.

The director of the Metro Project:
“It‘s been well built by the company where my brother is vice president” .

According to the ICA — Carso — Alstom Consortium , responsible for building :
“The roads are good, what is bad are the trains”.

According to Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferocarriles (CAF Mexico), company who makes the trains :
“The train were built as the Metro asked!”

Meanwhile , users are upset because the pace is slower than before, now have to travel in worse conditions, do more travel time and forget about the messianic Metro which should tour over the Tláhuac delegation.

So, who is wrong and who is right? It seems that we have to realize, once more, that our politicians are the classical assholes that are drawn on the cartoons. In this case, thet can’t find a name (or names) for the risponsibles of such irregularities that, hopefully, were discovered before an accident to happen.

Because just then, the politicians show their faces and are not abscent: just when the tragedies makes them look more humans. In my country, the land of opportunities, we’re forgetting that the politicians have only one opportunity… but, why don’t we say anything when they’ve waste it?
