Capitalism, if its the best thing since sliced bread, has yielded us a corporate takeover of nearly every institution. That’s what it has done. So, I specifically don’t understand that part of your original comment.
What does the 1% have that is soOoOOOooo wonderful, that the majority of Americans don’t have? Sure, the 1% enjoys perks, but the suicide rate is also higher in the 1%… Money doesn’t buy happiness.
But money buys food, pays for rent, covers bills, buys cars, etc. Its not about what the 1% have being wonderful. Its about the fact that most of our monetary assets are tied up in a small, small, small fraction of the population while the tiers below subsequently get more screwed over.
Like a sponge. Trickle-down economics is a ridiculous lie. Its more like ‘sponge-up’.
