What made me a good designer wasn’t my years of coding, but my profound understanding of the invisible demons programmers wrestle with. If a designer is skilled at their craft, knowledge of these development demons is what makes them successful at their job.
Should Designers Code??
Alan Cooper

We should all be aware of the demon developers wrestle with and what the designers wrestle with also. We should understand and empathize with each other, and attempt as best we can to discuss both in a way that is beneficial for everyone. Many at higher rungs in the company couldn’t care less about the minutia — this is understandable. But that’s when you get devs and designers pissed off, overworked, and undervalued.

Just my two cents.
