PROBLEM STATEMENT

đź’ˇ Many patients, particularly the elderly, face significant challenges in adhering to their prescription medication schedules and effectively managing their health records. These challenges include difficulty in remembering medication timings, confusion surrounding complex medication regimens, the risk of missing doses, and the cumbersome task of tracking their health data.

USER RESEARCH

UNDERSTANDING USERS:

I adopted a combined approach of quantitative and qualitative research methods to gain insights into users experiences. This involved engaging with a diverse group, including individuals over the age of 20, to explore their anxieties, pain points, challenges, and needs.

QUANTITATIVE RESEARCH

Quantitative interviews in medication management provide valuable data on pharmaceutical usage, safety, and patient knowledge, offering essential insights to enhance patient care and promote better health outcomes.

  • I conduct a sample survey, by taking a sample of 50 people from my target audience.

Based on their responses to the survey questions, the quantitative study has uncovered the following user survey insights:

Insights

  • Different age groups have different medication and supplement needs, so medication apps should consider these variations.
  • Many people take medicine every day, so medication apps can help remind them to take it regularly.
  • Some people sometimes forget to take their medicine. Medication apps can remind them, which is important for sticking to their treatment plan.
  • People use different methods to remember their medicine, like asking family for help, setting alarms, or writing notes. Medication apps could include these features to make it easier for users.
  • Most people are interested in using apps to remind them to take their medicine, which shows there is a demand for these apps.
  • Some people also take dietary supplements. Apps can help manage these supplements, making the apps more useful.
  • Medication needs vary, including for different health conditions. Apps should be flexible and allow users to enter their specific conditions and medicines.
  • Because users have diverse needs, medication apps should have features that can be customized for each person.
  • It would be useful to learn from people who have used medication apps before to see what they liked and what could be improved.
  • To get more people to use medication apps, it’s important to tell older people about these tools because they can benefit from them.
  • To promote the use of medication apps, it’s essential to raise awareness, especially among older age groups, as they can benefit significantly from these tools.

QUALITATIVE REASERCH

  • I approached 20 people to conduct qualitative research. All of them are individuals working in different fields from youth to 80+ years old.
