Stop Condemning My Bitterness, Start Condemning The System
Dominique Matti

Why are you so quick to assume that the police failed to stop did so because of the colour of your skin? Your piece presents their failure to stop as an act of racism, as an absolute matter of fact. But if this happened just as you have described, then you are jumping to the conclusion that fits your worldview without any supporting evidence. Your story describes a lazy, entitled civil service employee shirking his duties. I am a privileged white man, and I can describe countless encounters with lazy city employees, including police officers, who do not perform their duties appropriately, and it has nothing to do with skin colour. Did it occur to you that the cops you described were just trying to avoid a couple hours of paperwork right near the end of their shift?

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
