What comes before
The silence we can
barely endure
a ballad at the wrong moment
Feeling grateful as the other cries while you hold him
Longing for the open air space
knowing yourself up there
flying like you will never
have to land
Embracing
that which was discarded
for want of something better
The SAPLING series is a joint project with artist and illustrator Jurgen Walschot.
Saplings are creative sprouts. I will write to the images, he will draw to the words.
Like any seed, our saplings are reaching for the light, small and slender perhaps, but aspiring to grow tall.
