No parent is perfect.
That said, I agree with you 200% that happy, healthy parents usually make for happy, healthy kids. I’ve never seen a child get any advantage from being raised by a parent who was ignoring her own needs up to the point where it started depressing her. To the contrary: you can show her that you take care of yourself and you take your needs seriously, she will learn that it is okay to do so, too. Otherwise all we accomplish is another generation of sacrify, boredom, depression and spite. Let’s give our daughters a healthier example!
