Thailand is the sort of place that never really appealed to me, it always seemed a bit dirty and seedy, the type of place that men of a certain age go to have fun! However, in 2018 myself and my partner were looking for somewhere to go to escape our normal lives and get some winter sun and Thailand ticked all the boxes. I put my hesitations aside as my mind was more consumed with thoughts of long, white, sandy beaches and crystal-clear waters.

The first stop on our trip was the vibrant capital city of Thailand, Bangkok.

I am a self-confessed introvert and I always have been. The thought of meeting new people in my regular day which is very routine fills me with dread so when you add a job interview into the mix my anxiety levels go through the roof. I have come to learn that there are a number of things that you can easily put into practice when it comes to “faking it” through a job interview, it all comes in the prep and the execution. The steps may seem simple but for an anxious introvert, they can be extremely effective!

1. Practice

Write down some basic interview questions and create some bullet points as to how you will answer them. Even better if you are a visual person create spider diagrams and little drawings as this will help in the interview when your mind is searching for the perfect answer. Typical questions that come up in almost every interview are things like…

About a month or so ago I was looking through my closet and I had a typical “I have nothing to wear” moment. I was sliding through the rails and rifling through my drawers when I had the realization that the majority of my clothes were just not very “me anymore”.

I had my “go-to” outfits which made their weekly appearance but almost everything else made me feel uncomfortable or ugly when I wore it. …

Job interviews can be scary, borderline terrifying but before you can even put your foot through the door you need to be able to impress with a kick ass resume and awesome cover letter.

Trying to sell yourself on 1 maybe 2 sides of A4 can be tricky for some but there are certain things you should do and others which you should definitely avoid in order to progress to that all-important interview stage.

1. Avoid a generic cover letter

There is no harm in creating a template or basic guideline for your cover letter to follow when applying for different positions however try to make each application personal to that specific job/company that you are applying for. …

In light of Jenna Marbles’ announcement that she is stepping down from YouTube it seems like this is an important issue that needs to be addressed.

You may not know who Jenna Marbles is but she has been making YouTube videos for 10 years around various topics including gaming, beauty, food, fashion and her cute dogs. With around 20 million subscribers it may come as a surprise to learn that she is “resigning” from the platform when she seems to be at the pinnacle of her career.

In her announcement video she explains how a number of videos that she made in the past have lead her to this decision as she does not want to cause offence or to upset anybody, she seems genuinely apologetic that her content could have caused unnecessary hurt. …

There is something about going into a restaurant that just makes me feel good! It doesn’t have to be anywhere too fancy but just being able to relax and have a delicious meal cooked for you whilst being able to engage fully in conversation without worrying that you are going to burn your food is just like heaven to me.

With everything that is going on in the world right now restaurants are closed and I have to admit I am struggling. …

At the beginning of the year, I decided to dip my toes into the world of investments. Now, I am a far cry from Leonardo Di Caprio in The Wolf on Wall Street but I knew that given the current dire rates on savings accounts I wanted to do something with my money that would at least keep up with the rate of inflation.

In that short space of time, I have already learned so much and it has certainly opened my mind to a new way of earning a passive income. …

A woman’s body is a mystery to many men and let’s face it a lot of women too. We can create life, bleed without being in physical pain (for the most part!) and can even create nutritious milk. However, there are so many different aspects of the female form that we do not discuss whether that be due to embarrassment, shame or social stigma, it is all a bit of a taboo subject! …

It has been a whole month since I joined Medium and I can honestly say I have already learnt so much! Not only have I learnt new things from articles which I have read but I have also learnt more about myself through my writing.

Why Did I Join Medium?

To be honest, boredom. Sitting at an office computer all day can be mind numbing and I wanted a creative outlet. I have always enjoyed writing and have dabbled with blogging in the past so I thought that being a Medium contributor would help to fill that void.

I also consider myself to be a ‘learner’, I am one of those people that simply enjoys learning and I know this may sound nerdy but it’s true! I think as an adult is is easy to get stuck in a rut not expanding your brain and knowledge which can be depressing as you are not seeing things from different perspectives. Taking on new ideas is refreshing, and it can improve the quality of your life whether that be by learning about a new exercise regime, how to practice mindfulness or how to improve your financial situation. …

At the time of writing this article, there are approximately 3,867,401,147 women populating the earth. The average woman menstruates for around 40 years in total. In these 40 years, it is estimated that each woman will have around 2400 days where she will have a bleed. As a woman, this bleed is something that we have to manage and in modern times the options we have to do this both comfortably and safely are abundant especially when you consider the lengths our ancestors went to in order to keep Aunt Flow at bay.

Before disposable pads and tampons were invented it was a common practice for women to use items such as rags, knitted pads, sheep’s wool, and even grass as a means of controlling their periods. …
