Historically, Fort Collins has been a hub of innovation and opportunity. We were just recently recognized by the Smithsonian as a leader in invention alongside Silicon Valley and Hollywood. I would like to see us continue this trend while maintaining the vibrant culture that makes Old Town feel like a timeless microcosm of culture. Through the deft marriage of innovative technology and old world charm, we can have the best of both worlds and create the highest quality of life possible.
Fort Collins is doing this, and so much more. We have the greenest university in the country, are one of the top cities for clean tech startups, and have set some of the most aggressive and effective renewable energy goals in the entire world. We are pioneers, but we didn’t get here overnight.
It has taken countless man hours of blood, sweat, tears, and more tears to get to where we are. No one has been able to create this change alone, but together, we are moving forward. I would like to see the community collaborate to synergize our resources and make Old Town the world wide leader in successful living, creating a model of sustainability for the future.
I don’t know the best way to do this, but I’m confident that together we can make it happen. What do you think would enhance the quality of life for visitors, residents, and businesses in Old Town?
