Sophia -The humanoid Robot

Sofia is the world's first robot citizen and the first robot Innovation Ambassador for the United Nations Development Program. Sophia is a social humanoid robot developed by the Hong Kong-based company Hanson Robotics. Sophia is capable of imitating human gestures and facial expressions. Cameras are embedded in Sophia's eyes, and along with computer algorithms, she's able to see things. The humanoid robot can track faces, maintain eye contact and recognize people. She speaks, jokes, sings and even makes art. Now, the next step in the robot's career could be that of a musician. Sophia is working with human musicians on several musical works as part of a project called Sophia Pop, said David Hanson. Hanson is the head of Hanson Robotics and Sophia's creator. The Robot weighs approximately 21 kg (head, torso, arms). As a research platform or a service robot, Sophia 2020 has the unique ability to connect and communicate with humans in an unforgettable way, showcasing unparalleled robotics art and design, AI science, and engineering. Saudi Arabia has a new citizen: Sophia the robot. But what does that even mean? Since she's based on the OpenCog project she's programmed in C++, Python and Scheme. She also utilizes a neural network, which isn't really programmed but is trained using deep learning techniques.
