I don’t even know if it’s gonna be scholarly.

Haha sorry to rope in temptation! I’ve considered going vegetarian so many times. I’ve done it for fairly long stints, but I always struggle to maintain blood sugars etc bc the fiber and the grains eventually force my body into a perpetual and pervasively irate dry heave. Eff.

Books are hard. Wtf. Like…I’m not a plot person or something. And then even when I find it somewhere in the dredges of my growth-reluctant soul to squeeze out a plot, I am promptly an asshole about sticking to it. I’ve managed to ‘finish’ a short story about my diagnosis, but it’s not really fiction and the plot kind of wrote itself. This other book is fantasy/sci-fi and oops I have no idea what I’m doing.

Yours sounds like a perfect blend of philosophy/scholarly and drama!! That’s my favorite!!! Ok I’ve had gins so here’s a gross secret for you: I appreciate Ayn Rand’s Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged because they were the first books I’d read that combined a story with interesting characters and a cohesive, unwavering, philosophical premise that even presented in the ‘traditional’ philosophical argument style. (Zero on actually agreeing with any of her ish, tho. Bloop.) she was also the first writer I’d written who played with definitions of common words as much as she did, and I so love doing that. I’m even trying to make mine a combo of philosophy and fantasy story. Ok shhhhh that’s my dirty secret. But anyways I’m super excited for your book!!!! Cannot wait. At all.
