Hahaha, nice revamp with the post! It’s such an interesting boundary area. I seethe at the thought of someone sneaking into a concert without paying. But, I’m a lot less aggravated by the idea that someone would jump up to a better seat if no one was taking it, although I’ve never done that myself. I think part of the reason I’m more ok with the seat jumping is because in a concert, certain seats give you a totally different experience, and if they’re there but not being used, then that experience, for that performance, is lost forever. So part of me goes ‘yes! Take it! Have that music like that! YAS!’ even as I’m annoyed that they’re taking a seat that isn’t theirs.

I suppose the same feeling would apply to seat jumping in planes, too. Annoying but not criminal. Probably more annoyed than I’d be at a concert bc the experience difference isn’t lost forever: it’s right there on the next plane ride.
