Many people would like to believe this popular misconception, but the opposite is actually true. Microwaves work from the outside in, cooking the outer layers of food first, which then lets the heat transfer to the inner parts of the food.
- Cooking in a microwave oven saves energy, is cheaper and easier:

- Boiling water can explode in a microwave oven:
One of the few dangers of using a microwave oven lies in over heating the water. When water is heated in a microwave for too long, it can prevent bubbles that usually help a liquid in cooling down, from forming resulting in super heated water, that gone past its boiling point. When this is disturbed, moving it or dropping something in it, the heat releases violently, erupting boiling water out of the cup.
So as you can see, there is nothing to fear from a microwave oven if you use it correctly.
