Kathryn, I completely agree. It is really difficult to design for all people given the range of body types, sizes, & preferences which is why we need a diverse set of perspectives when designing products. I believe that goes for diversity of cultures and backgrounds as well.
I don’t blame the designers and believe they should be given them the benefit of the doubt when it comes to their intentions. For example, the car designers thought they were designing a car to be safe but they were designing it to standards set by the car companies that were biased.
