Kat, great article.
Kyle Overton

Kyle, I completely agree that it is important for men to stand up for feminism and white people to stand up for minorities. At the same time I don’t want my voice to take the place of a minority telling his/her story. For example, I’ve certainly seen panels of men discussing feminist issues and thought, “couldn’t they get a female perspective?”

It is all about balance. The tactic I’ve taken is not to write about race issues myself but to share, post, and comment when someone else does so that I’m supporting but not talking over. It is something that each person needs to find his/her own way of navigating.

Thank you for the suggestion of the TED talk. I will take a look at it.
