TLDR: Some kitties with colored eyes / paws / cheeks did not have these features in their metadata (despite being visually there).
This was added to the advanced ranking and Kaderare rankings have been updated

What was fixed?

Recently a member of the community discovered that there was missing metadata on a lot of kitties that had colored eyes / paws / cheeks.
This was fixed on the website, however this required updating of the official rarity lists to include the data also.

What was the impact?

A few hundred kitties with the colored features had the metadata added, which caused rarities of kitties to move around.

You can see the new and old rarity lists

The main impacts are

  • Kitties that had colored eyes / paws / cheeks and had the metadata present before are now ranked lower
  • Kitties with the colored features that didn’t have the metadata present are now ranked higher

Currently there are two main community used rarity lists — Advanced Ranking and Kaderare.
These have both been updated.

What are some examples of the impact?

For the top 5, most the kitties are the same but just moved around. For reference — here are the top 5 kitties on Advanced Ranking

  1. #972 is still rarest
  2. #7879 was ranked 11th before
  3. #3944 was was ranked 6th before
  4. #7152 was ranked 2nd before
  5. #6692 was ranked 24th before

You can see kitties moved around, while not too crazily, there are still noticeable changes.

Closing message

While we have believed its ultimately up to the community to determine rarities, the missing metadata (even if visually present) had an impact on community calculations as they weren’t able to use it in their calculations.

Hopefully this is the last of it, as over the last few months we have up to ~900 owners and most missing features are likely to be spotted.
